WHAT IS TMC?
The Tune-up Manufacturers Council (TMC) is a trade association charged with the dissemination of
information to the automotive, aircraft, marine, and stationary industries-ultimately promoting the
manufacture, sale, service, and use of top-quality aftermarket tune-up and emissions test equipment.
Specifically, auto parts retailers, tune-up service technicians, and vehicle dealerships would be
concerned with a variety of issues that the TMC addresses.
In order to be eligible for membership, a firm must be in good financial standing, involved in the
manufacture, production, or marketing of aftermarket tune-up components and/or emissions test equipment.
HOW DOES TMC OPERATE?
With legislative action on the local, state, and national levels, the Council can assist in the creation
of special regulations that are geared toward the improvement of vehicle maintenance, fuel economy and
the reduction of harmful emissions into the environment.
The Council distributes materials that document technological advances made in the industry. In
addition, the Council involves itself in sharing knowledge online in order to communicate replacement
product, environmental, and regulatory issues. This use of technology allows online interaction to be a
value-added forum for consumers and members.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?
As a TMC member, you will have unlimited access to industry-specific information that promotes the
processes and practices of proper vehicle maintenance for both the consumer and the technician. TMC is
an organization whose purpose is not financial gain or profit, but it is continuously involved in
activities that encourage technological strides in the aftermarket arena, thus improving the overall
quality and performance of vehicles. Click here for a TMC Membership application.
